Jefferson Community Club Association - JCCA

back

Aurora Men participate in this city wide tennis league with clubs from the Jefferson Community Club Association. Men play four doubles matches on Tuesday evenings, two at 6:30 and two at 7:45. The 28 week season includes four 7 match cycles against the other teams in the division.

JCCA competition includes four or five levels of play. The Red Division is the top group including some of the city's finest club doubles play. Club pro's and amateurs compete at the USTA 4.0-5.0 levels. The White division is second with many 3.5 to 4.5 players. Gold is third and Blue provides the entry level. Club teams compete for an annual championship and the right to move up to a higher division. Aurora has won top honors twice. Participants proudly sport the "tee shirts" to prove it. The Competition Committee makes decisions about movements each year with the top and bottom two teams in each division eligible for promotion/demotion.

Aurora fields one or two teams each year depending on member interest. If you are interested in becoming a Captain and fielding a team contact a current Aurora Captain or Club Management.

2015-2016 Results
Returning to the Gold Division the team returned to top form.

2014-2015 Results
Remaining in the White Division the team suffered a few setbacks and had trouble remaining in the top tier. By seasons end the toll had been taken and we missed the playoffs by a slim margin.

2013-2014 Results
Returning to the White Division the team reveled in the intense competition. Losing a squeaker at Chateau shows we are ready to win in this division. A couple of rain outs plus injuries and absences marred the first rotation of four scheduled for this season. By season's end it was clear that we'd have better luck next year.

2012-2013 Results
An exciting first half of the season saw Aurora with two losses, positioned behind undefeated Gold Division leader Chateau. However in our last match before the New Year Aurora scorched Chateau 4-0 to solidify second place. An undefeated second half included a few squeakers but left Aurora with the #1 seed for the playoffs.

2011-2012 Results
The season is well underway and Aurora is in 5th place and headed for the playoffs in the White Division. A few late season injuries and membership changes scuttled our chances for the playoffs and positioned Aurora for a move back to the Gold Division next year.

2010-2011 Results
Aurora finished in 6th place and headed for the playoffs in the White Division. Enough said.

2009-2010 Results
The team captained by Mark Blandford won the Gold Division with a record of 23-1 and then dominated the playoffs. Towels with gold lettering this year. The competition committee will meet in August and Aurora can reasonably expect to move back up to White. Is there enough interest to field additional teams?

2008-2009 Results
The team competed in White and struggled through a disappointing year marred by injuries and absences.

2007-2008 Plans
The club fielded both White and Blue division teams this year. The White team entered the playoffs in fifth place and scored a first round win but could go no further. The Blue team had a winning record and also advanced to the playoffs.

2006-2007 Results
We won the Blue Division with a blistering 25-1 record. Tee shirts for all participants. In normal times winning means we would move up to Gold next year.

2005-2006 Schedule
We competed in the storm consolidated Gold/Blue Division between January and May. Overall we came in first in the Blue Division even though we had only three wins. We got some help from a rules violation that disqualified a Sunrise player.

2004-2005 Team

After a lackluster 2-8 start the Aurora Team caught fire in the second half of the season. A big win over the 20-0 Ormond team on April 12th provided a major highlight to the season and served notice that this Aurora team was for real. After sweeping PMCC to finish the season 10-14 and in 4th place overall, the team swept Woodlake on May 10 to advance to the semifinals. The season ended on May 17'th with a 1-3 loss to division champion Ormond.
