The Aurora Netcords defeated club rival Aurora Aces for the Club Championship in three hotly contested matches Wednesday October 15, 2003.

The curse of the Billy Goat seemed to affect the Aces just as it sank the Chicago Cubs that same evening:
  • Billy Cobb and Joe Royal took court one in split sets including two tiebreakers.
  • Billy Varney and Floyd Paddock won court two, also in split sets.
  • Court three where the Netcords failed to schedule a Billy, fell to the Aces in straight sets.

    Although of vital interest to Aurora Country Club this match has little impact on the citywide USTA competition as neither the Netcords nor the Aces are in contention.
