AMTA 2006 Summer Extension |

| This is the summer version of the popular AMTA Thursday night league. Because its summer there are no prizes and we use the opportunity to experiment with the format. Aurora men 18 or older are eligible for the league. We play three sets of doubles, rotating partners after each set. Scores each week update the players ranking. Rankings are used to determine players court assignment. Signing up does not commit you playing every week nor will you have to find substitutes when your schedule makes it impossible to play. The web based scheduler allows players to manage their schedules. Four days before each match reminders are sent via email. The reminder message includes links you can click to update your availability. Forty-eight hours (or so) before we meet on the courts, the schedule is locked and confirming email messages sent out to that weeks participants. If you find out you cant play before the schedule is locked you need only go online and update your schedule. Once the schedule is locked, youll need to arrange for a substitute and notify the captain if you cant play. Signup online using the Participate button to the right or signup in the foyer of the club when the traditional signup sheet is posted. You dont need to do both. The fall and spring leagues use cumulative scores to determine final ranking and awards so signing up at the beginning of the league is important to be be eligible to win. However if your goal is just to play, you can signup at any time during the course of the league. $10 for balls, pro rated for signup after the league starts. |
